Key Arena is part of the larger Seattle Center which forms a sports and entertainment complex and convention center in Seattle Washington. Home to the Seattle Supersonics basketball team as well as the Seattle Storm and Thunderbirds, Key Arena provides a state of the art sports arena for watching Supersonics Basketball and other sporting and entertainment events.
In the shadow of the Space Needle and the major venue at Seattle Center, Key Arena is the entertainment hub of Seattle. Key Arena is where you will see major music acts, ice-skating shows, professional wrestling, college and professional basketball, and semiprofessional hockey, as well as many other types of concerts and sports. KeyArena is home to both men's and women's professional basketball teams, the Seattle Supersonics and Seattle Storm.
Key Arena's ice-skating rink makes a nice home for the Seattle Thunderbirds,
the city's semiprofessional hockey team. With its location in the Seattle
Center, Key Arena is in close proximity to a number of
hotels, including those in Seattle's Belltown and Queen Anne
neighborhoods. If you're staying downtown, Key Arena is just a short walk or
cab ride away. Those staying near Westlake Mall can hop on the Monorail,
which stops near the Seattle Center House. From there it's just a short walk
to the to Key Arena's east entrance. Parking can be a little difficult for
those driving to Key Arena; there is a parking garage and few paid parking
lots along Mercer Street, which borders Seattle Center to the north. There
is also parking to the east of Seattle Center, across the street from the
Memorial Stadium parking lot. If you're looking to grab a bite to eat before
or after the event, most restaurants are located to the west of Key Arena.
There are a few good places to eat to the north of Key Arena as well, not to
mention the numerous choices at Seattle Center. Whether it's basketball, a
hockey game or a concert, there is always something going on at Key Arena.
