Malls and Places To Shop In Seattle Washington
When
you travel, you have to spend at least one day shopping. In Seattle there
are countless shopping hotspots, but for the premier experience, head to the
heart of downtown Seattle. Pacific Place mall provides some of Seattle’s
most sophisticated shopping, with stores ranging from classy to very
high-end. Here, you’ll find Tiffany and Co., Cartier, Max Mara, BCBG Max
Azia, Express, J.Crew, William & Sonoma, Victoria’s Secret, Ann Taylor,
Pottery Barn, Aveda, and much more. Barnes & Noble, located on the basement
floor, is open until 11 PM. On the third floor, you can cross the indoor
skywalk over Fifth Avenue into the Nordstrom flagship store, a well known,
upscale department store. The mall itself is an elegant structure, with a
skylight ceiling that fills the place with natural light. A courteous staff
keeps the building spotless, and you will find a concierge on the first
floor to direct you to your desired destination. There is seating on various
floors to rest your tired legs, and a courtyard on the main level with a
delicious bakery, Il Fournil. On the forth floor is an 11 screen AMC movie
theatre, making the mall one of the best places in town to catch new
releases. Before your film, why not try one of Pacific Place’s renowned
restaurants, such as critically acclaimed Thai Ginger (delicious food and an
inventive cocktail selection,) or Gordon Biersch (great happy hour)? One of
Pacific Place’s best kept secrets is its parking garage: despite the upscale
nature of the mall, the parking is among the most affordable downtown, and
is almost never full.
Since you’re in the neighborhood, head on over to Rainier Square, another
downtown shopping Mecca. If you are really in the mood to do some serious
damage to your credit card, this is the place to do. The Rainier Square
neighborhood is home to Louis Vuitton, Escada, Brooks Brothers, Saint John,
Betsy Johnson, Barcelino, and David Lawrence (and you’ll find Barney’s just
a block or so away.) You’ll also find two galleries in the district. The
atrium is a nice place to have lunch during the workday, and there are quite
a few delis and espresso places nearby. Rainier Square hosts a diverse
selection of restaurants, including Benihana (sushi,) Crepe Di Paris
(French,) and Rock Bottom Brewery (American.)
Don’t forget to check out all the other downtown shopping that is right in
this area. Anthropologie, Mario's, Sephora, Nike, Banana Republic, and
Nordstrom Rack (a fabulous discount branch of the department chain) are all
nearby. When it comes to shopping, downtown Seattle has everything, for any
budget.
